IMPORTANT: Nearly
50 percent of the colleges and universities that distribute Florida Leader pay to
get their supply of copies.
The remaining schools request in writing the number of copies
they want and how they plan to distribute the magazines. Most schools get shipments sent
directly to several key offices on campus.
We also make sure that each school is distributing Florida
Leader to the right students through:
Personal calls and letters to
our contacts (who are usually college employees such as student activities directors) at
each school to ensure permission for distribution on each campus. Our editors interview
nearly 100 students and staff for each issue and the magazine, so were able to
constantly monitor how well our magazine is distributed at schools through these calls.
We also get UPS and USPS
records to confirm delivery.
Follow-up phone conversations
with each distributor at least once annually to determine how quickly and effectively the
magazines are disbursed.
Since
50 percent of the schools
pay to get Florida Leader, theyre quick to call if they dont receive
their copies. They also tell us if they need more copies or get too many.
Bonus distribution
Thousands of copies of Florida
Leader are distributed by organizations across Florida, including Phi Theta Kappa
chapters, College Leadership Florida, and Honors programs at individual colleges.
Copies also are distributed at
conventions, workshops, and seminars attended by campus leaders and Florida Leader
editors.
Many copies are distributed to
members of the Florida Legislature and memers of the media statewide.
