Why did you become
involved in SGA?
“I wanted to stay involved on campus and do the most that I
could to make it a more enjoyable place to attend college.”
Who is your role
model?
“My mom—she’s the
jam. She works harder than anyone I know and it seems like she never
bites off more than she can chew.”
What is your
administration’s biggest challenge?
“So far, our biggest challenge has been summer apathy. There
have also been a few budget crunches we’ve had to deal with.”
What legacy will
your administration leave?
“I hope that our
administration will leave the legacy of opening up Student Government to
more students. There’s not enough awareness of the opportunities that
SGA presents, and I want to make sure that everyone has the chance to
take advantage of them.”
How does student
body view SGA?
“In my opinion, our
student body views SGA as a funding source for clubs and organizations.
They also see our name at tailgate parties, concerts, and other fun
events that we sponsor.”
Describe your
relationship with the administration.
“Last year, the
relationship between SGA and campus administration was spectacular.
Since I was a member of that administration, the great relationship has
carried over to this year.”
Describe your
relationship with the media.
“Our relationship with campus media is getting better every
year. They do their best to relay an accurate story and we do our best
to stay off the front page—just kidding.”
What advice would
you give to other SGA presidents?
“To stay
involved. Even when it seems like the same 10 people are the only ones
who care, it will pay off. When it does, it makes it all
worthwhile.”
What are your plans
after graduation?
“I’m hoping to go to law school.”
