Here are some interesting
facts about the 2005 Florida College Student of
the Year Award winners:
Sixteen colleges and universities are
represented by the 20 winners.
41 colleges and universities are represented by
the entire pool of applicants. Miami Dade College had a total of 15
applicants, the University of South Florida had 11, the University of
Central Florida had nine, and the University of Florida had eight.
Nine of the 20 students this year hail from
state universities, while seven attend private colleges and universities,
and four attend community colleges.
Three winners are of non-traditional age.
Six of the 20 winners are women, as well as
three of the seven finalists.
The University of Florida had three honorees,
and both the University of Miami and the University of South Florida had
two.
